Abstract
The study included 24 patients with intraventricular hemorrhage secondary to hemorrhagic stroke. Of the 24 included patients, 11 were women (45.8%) and 13 were men (54.2%). The mean age was 55.7 ± 10.5 years. All admitted patients underwent emergency native CT of the brain, with subsequent CT scans repeated dynamically as indicated. Upon admission, dilation of the ventricular system (according to CT data) was detected in 17 patients (70.8%). Among patients who underwent emergency surgery in the acute period, 45.8% underwent only decompressive interventions aimed at restoring cerebrospinal fluid circulation. Patients with installed external ventricular drainage underwent active cerebrospinal fluid corrective therapy.
In hemorrhagic stroke with blood leaking into the ventricular system, timely cerebrospinal fluid decompression is particularly important. Insertion of a neuroendoscopic device (NED) in comatose patients with massive intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) allowed for rapid improvement of consciousness and stabilization of hemodynamics, paving the way for subsequent staged treatment. In the future, as equipment becomes available, it is planned to more widely use neuroendoscopic techniques for the removal of intraventricular clots.
